I had a dream about a giant vampire bee. In the dream, I was pissed because the vampire bee wasn't taking advantage of all the interesting qualities a vampire bee could have. It was a male, for one thing, and although it had a lot of thralls, its base of operations was the sewers of a major city, not a beehive of any sort. Also, it didn't make blood-honey. That annoyed me muchly.

A giant vampire bee should fill its lair with hexagonal wax cells full of blood honey. A giant vampire bee should be a queen, not a drone. A giant vampire bee can rule a hive of small vampire bees or of humans she has turned into vampires. A giant vampire bee sucks your blood with its mouth-parts, not by stinging. Stinging eviscerates the bee, just like with normal bees.

That's how you defeat the vampire bee. You get her to sting someone. Unfortunately, that person will have to die of vampire-bee venom, but then you get access to all the wax and blood-honey which you can sell on ebay at a major profit. The blood-honey tastes nasty, but goths will want it anyway.
